The Guesthouse
In the middle of the heart of fjord-Norway, on the farm Hauge situated in Os, only half an hour driving south of Bergen lies Bjørnefjorden Gjestetun. This beautiful farm was earlier a part of Lyse Kloster, founded in 1146.
 Bjørnefjorden Gjestetun sleeps 90 in 40 charming rooms. The rooms are located in different buildings.
You can for instance stay in the old barn, where each room has its own name such as Smalahuset ("The Sheep Shed"), Stallen ("The Stables"), Jomfruburet ("The Virgin's Chamber"), Tausarommet ("The Maid's Chamber"), Drengjarommet ("The Farmhand's Chamber") and Skykkje-skukkjen ("The tool-shed loft").
Many a guest has found a special favourite among the 18 rooms in "Løo" ("The Barn"). All these rooms are of a high standard with all the necessary facilities. The size varies from single rooms to four-bed apartments. Most of the apartments have large terraces overlooking the Bjørnefjord.
The view is beautiful - the fjord framed by the Folgefonna glacier and the Rosendal mountains in the background. Some of the smaller houses on the farm, such as KÃ¥rhuset ("The Servant's House") and Vognhuset ("The Coach House") can be rented separately. Some of these houses have three bedrooms with two beds in each room. In the new main building we can offer 20 rooms, both single and double. These obviously have the same high standard as the apartments. The painted panelling is in the colours used at the turn of the century. Textiles and interior fittings and furnishings have been chosen for atmosphere and warmth.
